A Very Brief Biography

As long as I can remember, I doodled. The margins of my homework were full of doodles, pages of drawings tended to interrupt the flow of essays and my arms and hands were perpetually ink-riddled. I was the guy who always had a pen.

I remember going to my father’s office on weekends and after-hours to play with the copier. I remember having to stand on a chair to reach the glass. Those games evolved into a newsletter in the third grade

When I wasn't doodling, I was tapping. Tapping rhythms, tapping patterns, tapping my own version of morse code… tapping with pens and pencils to produce sounds and dot patterns… So, when I was nine, I started taking drum lessons. It taught me to keep the message clear, while honing my aural and visual methods of communication.

I found that graphic design was an ideal to combine both of these passions. My doodles have become logos and layouts, using my sense of visual rhythm to keep them balanced, but still interesting to the eye.

In 1998, my future wife and I moved to New York City, where I worked as a freelance Graphic Designer while attending the School of Visual Arts. In 2002, after I had finished my degree, we decided to move back to Texas to be closer to our families. My wife and I now live in Dallas with our two beautiful daughters.
